You guys remember that 'new wolf shaded' deviation I put up a while back? Yeah, well, here he is, all upated'n such~. And for the record, his name's Maverick.
Maverick is a unique little beastie. Judging from his markings and whatnot, you can assume that he's fire or water based right? Wrong - he's got earth powers. But, he is limited. For example, Maverick is able to walk on water by balancing on stable lily pads, and whenever he walks, stands or runs on land, plants grow where his paws touch (as portrayed in the above image). Another ability he has is using vines to 'fly' through the air.
However, his most significant physical power is the ability to use poisonous fangs. His teeth resemble a viper's, and his mouth is just as flexible. However, aiming has proven to be a challenge, since he moves so nimbly.
Maverick is a noble beast, benevolent and kind. Legend tells of his size to be slightly greater than a horse, and his voice like thousands of heavenly tones strung into several notes.
However, Maverick isn't known just for heroisms and nicety. He is also known as the Forest Beast, the living, breathing heart of all greenery seen. He can tap into ancient magicks and transform himself into a gargantuan creature. The Forest Beast's face is emblematic to a flat-faced lion, with tufted grass-like fur webbing from the sides of its face. It is said to possess feline-like eyes that have human qualities to them. It has rounded ears like a leopard, and several markings covering its countenance.
Stones protrude from its neck, head, shoulders, and hips. Its legs are stocky, covered and scales, and can act like human hands, although only one can be lifted at a time. The Forest Beast seems to imitate a mobile island, harbouring trees on its very spine, whose roots are planted in an earthen dome shaped like a tortoise shell. The Forest Beast has the ability to replenish wastelands with its breath, and is so large, that a normal human is about the size of its pupil.
So, there ya have it folks, I'm bring'n' back ol' Mavie with some updates and whatnot.
